HEROES . . . . .

Isn't this just the coolest show? I read that Stephen Spielberg (sp?) turned it off for too much violence and gore? What d'ya think?

I am catching myself Dreaming about this crazy show! can hardly wait till the next episode.

I find this one almost as compelling as LOST . . . . . what d'ya think?

Okay, is anyone out there so totally SICK of 'The blondes' that they wanna scream? And Rob & Kimberly, PUHLEAZE, if she doesn't DUMP him the minute they get off this site, she is an idiot! OH, MY, WORD . . . If you are rooting for anyone but the Cho brothers or Alabama, please oh please, tell me why. . . . . I've never watched this show before but I do not remember any reality show where I have ever had so few people to like. . . . with their behavior and ignorance, is there any wonder Europeans tend to think of all of us as the 'Ugly American Tourist' ..

Sheesh, i just cringe when they make some of their ignorant comments. Remember, "Chernobyl is where the Atomic Bomb went off" ???

Fill in some of the other things You've heard this season, help me remember!

Love ya,

mamakat

My Baby Kirk (age 14 and taller than I!) is selling his PSP system for Christmas money so I promised him I'd get as many people to check it out as I can!

Isn't this cape just TOO cool? Sometimes I just list stuff on eBay because I know someone out there can use it and will be happy to have it, but sometimes I just LOVE the stuff! This is my favorite for this week, although I found a lot of vintage 1970s clothing in this last bunch that were a lot of fun to list. But you gotta check out this cape!

I just love my new logo; what d'ya think? My wonderfully talented DIL made it for me!

Okay, about the storage unit. For those interested, I'm about to spill some eBay info, are we alone here?

I bought two storage units for a total of $37. Plus I bought the book about storage units for $20. So my investment so far is up to $57. Now, I have some older not great shape furniture that I wasn't able to give away so I may end up paying some on Saturday to dump that. Now, it took me about 10 hours over two days (alone) to sort through all that stuff. (remember lesson #2 - this is a LOT of work, LOL) SO, I figure that's another $100 - now up to $157. So far sales have been: $76.92. BUT, I have tons of stuff I haven't even cleaned up yet in my garage. . . . will have to see how the bottom line turns out, but I'm planning on going to another auction on the 8th!

I made it! I've been on eBay since 1997 and I THINK I was a powerseller before at one point but that was a LONG time ago. Since our move to Colorado I've been thinking about it and this August I committed to trying to make PS again. TODAY I got the invite! I'm so excited. I'm not really thrilled about benefits, although there are some, but more thrilled that I set a goal and worked my way toward it. I'm not always so good at finishing things and/or staying with something so this is a double excitment for me! Yeah, Me! :)

Here in the Springs we have ‘Deer Mice’ which try and move in when the weather turns cold. I knew I had seen one in the closet and wasn’t too concerned, figured the cat or dogs would take care of it. I know I’m pretty laid back about this stuff but remember, I have four sons – ‘nuff said. So anyway, last Tuesday while out doing my errands, I was stuck in line waiting and picked up the latest Base (Air Force Academy) newspaper. It just happened to have a long article about how DANGEROUS Deer Mice were! Evidently, they care some type of hantavirus, which is fatal to humans in 50% of the cases. They are just carriers and it doesn’t affect them. SOOO I’m starting to wonder where the closet mouse went, right?

I get home and start on dinner and hear a SCREAM, BARKING and thumping from Son #1’s (Thomas) room. Then sister comes running up the stairs screaming that there is a mouse in Thomas’ room. So, of course, I remember the article and go screaming down the stairs ‘DON’T TOUCH THE MOUSE’ !!!! I get there and Thomas has it cornered under his futon couch and is trying to catch it. So I explain that none of us humans are allowed to touch it. I call ALL THREE dogs into the room and show them the mouse. That was fun! They barked, they chased and they played. . . . in the end the mouse was under the couch, the three dogs AND three sons AND daughter were on top of the bed and I was about to start screaming again! SO, ding goes the light bulb in my head. I put all the dogs into the OTHER bedroom, go fetch Sammy the cat and lock her in the room. BINGO within 40 minutes or so mouse is caught and eaten and all is well. (Virus doesn’t pass to cats or dogs!) Sheesh!

THIS is why I like cats; they get the JOB done!

I Can't Believe I Bought The Whole thing!

Well, I've had a very busy week and can't wait to get back to 'normal' (like life is ever normal, LOL) this week.

I've been selling on eBay for many years and most of my 'stock' has come from my house, or the yard sale and thrift store circuit. About a month ago I started 'running dry' and started trying to find other sources. I've been curious about Storage Unit Auctions for awhile and a friend had just come out with the ebook in the picture. So, I bought, I read and I called a few storage units in my town! Lucky Me! The second place I called had an auction scheduled for last week! So, quickly read the book again. (I highly! recommend this book, click here to purchase: http://storageauctionmomma.com?id=katskloset )

So, off I go! There were about 30 people who showed up for the auction and there were 31 units to sell. I figured those were pretty good odds! I talked _a lot_ to all the people waiting. (those of you who know me are thinking, she's always talking!) and that was educational. I actually thought I'd leave without anything, just considering this an 'educational' trip. But, I WON! I won TWO storage units. One for $12 and the other for $25! And then the fun began, WOW I won two lessons through all this and am happy to pass them on: #1 - you CAN make money at this and #2 - this is a LOT of work!

If you are the kind (like me) that enjoys hunting for treasure in yard sales, thrift stores and more, go for it!

You don't have to buy the book above or any other book, but it did make me feel a lot more 'ready' for the event. I didn't feel so out of my element, since I knew more about what to expect.

questions? Love 'em. . . . post 'em. . . . Kat

My Sister sent this. It made me smile; hope you can get a smile out of it also!

Political Correctness
A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Nancy Pelosi, our new speaker of the house, is one of the most libearl politicians out there, except for maybe Harry Reid. Nancy and I couldn't BE further apart on most issues. So, the question in my mind is this, "Will the newly elected Democrats, who ran mostly on conservative platforms, vote as they promised in their elections or as Nancy tells them to?" What d'ya think out there?

Well, it's over. My son Thomas' high school football career ended on Saturday, October 28th. Thomas' Colorado School, Pikes Peak Christian, started playing football for the very first time 3 years ago. He has played for them the entire three years as their Captain and Quarterback. It has been quite a ride for him and for mom! My eldest son, Kenny, also had a great high school football career but I didn't get to see most of it because of family situations and choices. I've always regretted that and maybe that helped me cherish each (cold, wet, rainy, snowy, freezing) moment of Thomas' time on the field.
So this was the very first year PPCS was eligible to be a part of the playoffs and we made it! Had high hopes to progress a couple levels and the skill to do it but it wasn't meant to be. We had earned home field advantage for the first round, BUT, the weather changed that! Game was to be played at 1PM and at noon the coaches and referees declared the field unsafe as there was a coat of ice about 3 - 4 inches deep all over! I voted we play hockey but that didn't go over, LOL So we had to call around and find another field to play on. We ended up driving about an hour and the game started a little after 2 PM.
It was bad. We played normally but the other team was awesome. As our coach said, 'they play smash mouth football' the entire game. They were a good team and we were outplayed. Thomas' took some serious hits. More in this game than the entire season up until this one! With about 14 seconds left he went down hard and twisted an ankle so bad we all thought he'd broken it. In the middle of the coach, trainers and me, all he could say (other than screaming) was 'I'm sorry, coach'. . . . . that about says it all.
I'll post a video and some photos here later.
Thanks for reading and say a prayer for Thomas as he visits Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama this weekend to meet with their new head coach. They are starting football for the first time next year and want Thomas to come and play! Oh, and he was also chosen All Conference 1st team as a Quarterback AND a Cornerback! You go, my baby!
